Heinrich von Staden is Professor of Classics and History of Science at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, and the visiting Sather Professor of Classical Literature at University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include ancient medicine, science, and philosophy. Among his current projects is a book-length work on animals in ancient science and medicine as well as a study of the role of individuals and collectivities in ancient medicine.
